My name Is Zooga and I am male, de-sexed and not quite 3 years old. My breed is  unknown, however,  I have a lovely stance and look  quite magnificent  especially when  I am  lifting  one of my front paws in the classic  ‘pointer’ gesture.

I am a very quiet dog with a very affectionate nature. I love to be patted and will sit by you all day if you want to pat me.   I love company of any kind (dogs and/or people) however, I am also happy to lie in the backyard and sun bake or sleep if I am alone. Being such a quiet dog means I won’t wake you up during the night so you get a good night’s sleep too!

I absolutely love the water. I will literally bound through the water if out at the weir or along a river’s edge.  In summer when it’s warm I will need a shell pool for the backyard so I can lie and cool down please.  Although I  am  a real water  baby  I don’t like  taking my feet off the ground.  
I am a very quick learner.   I can sit and wait on command.  My recall is really very good and I can be off lead when away from roads and in the parks and will come back to you when you call me.  I love going for walks and have been out with other dogs and had a great time.  After the first  excitement of meeting  new dogs/people  I  will come back when  called (sometimes I even come back to you first,  before I meet even them  so that with age and  a bit of training my recall  will only get better).  I am very aware of where my human is during our walks and look back to make sure they are still nearby. I am excellent in the car. I either sit up and look out the window or lie down and have a snooze, sometime I like to lie along the floor if you let me.

I have actually been in rescue for some time. I think this may have something to do with my photos not really doing me justice. I have been told that in the flesh I am a really stunning looking dog with great colourings (I even have a big heart on my side to show how much love I have to give). I have a fine/narrow body similar in shape to a pointer or kelpie and not much bigger than a kelpie overall. Everyone who meets me comments on what a happy natured boy I am.  I'll admit that while I love to  play with dogs of all shapes and sizes, I'm not a fan of sharing my food with other dogs (however,  I do know and understand a stern ‘Ah-ah’  when I  am interested in my mate’s food). With some basic training early on, this is something I know I can overcome with your help. 

Due to a  change in  my foster carer’s circumstances  they could no longer keep me so I am currently at the local pound  waiting  for  another foster carer   - or even  better  a  new forever  home.  I have a beautiful smile and a happy nature and would love to be part of your home and family.
